That the Parliament congratulates the winners of the Highlands and Islands Press Ball and Media Awards, held at the Kingsmill Hotel in Inverness on 2 February 2024; celebrates Iain MacInnes on winning three prestigious awards, including Reporter of the Year, the Environment and Sustainability Award, and the Diageo Journalist of the Year award; commends Mr MacInnes for what it sees as his dedication, talent and contributions to journalism, which have been recognised through these awards; extends its congratulations to The Oban Times on winning the Campaign of the Year award at the same event, and recognises what it sees as the newspaper's commitment to campaign for rural and island communities' interests by calling on the Scottish Government to prioritise funding for communities affected by budget cuts, and to address the specific needs of rural communities across the west coast and islands.
