Congratulating Dugie MacTaggart on His Retirement from CalMac After 48 Years

That the Parliament congratulates Dugie MacTaggart on his retirement after what it sees as an exceptional period of service on Scotland’s ferry network; understands that Mr MacTaggart has worked for CalMac Ferries since joining in 1975, and has retired from the firm after 48 years of service; further understands that Mr MacTaggart began taking ferry bookings for CalMac on Islay, before moving to Greenock to continue to work for CalMac as a revenue protection manager in 1991; considers his dedication to serving visitors and island communities for such an extended period of time to be exemplary; recognises what it sees as the dedication of all CalMac staff to maintaining and running Scotland’s ferry network; considers the role of ferry network staff to be invaluable in supporting island connectivity; believes that Mr MacTaggart deserves a holiday, and wishes him the very best for his retirement.
