Fraserburgh Harbour Port of the Year

  • Submitted by: Karen Adam, Banffshire and Buchan Coast, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Wednesday, 15 May 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-13198

That the Parliament applauds Fraserburgh Harbour on being named Port of the Year at the Fishing News Awards 2024; congratulates the entire Fraserburgh Harbour team on their outstanding work being recognised by industry peers; recognises what it sees as the positive economic, social and cultural contribution that Fraserburgh Harbour plays locally as well as nationally; commends the Fraserburgh Harbour Trust for its ambition to improve and expand the port with the Fraserburgh Harbour Masterplan, a plan, it understands, that would allow the port to capitalise on offshore wind opportunities and support more fishing vessels, while protecting and enhancing its leading role in the Scottish fishing sector, and wishes all involved with making Fraserburgh Harbour a leader in this field further and ongoing success in the future.
